Warning: This blog post contains spoilers for the ending of book, 1 A Happy Ending for Villains. If you have not read the book yet and do not want to be spoiled, I suggest that you stop reading now.
With that being said, let’s discuss the ending of 1 A Happy Ending for Villains. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how the book ended. I was expecting a typical Hollywood ending where the villain gets his comeuppance and the good guys triumph in the end. However, the ending of 1 A Happy Ending for Villains was much more satisfying.
The villain of the story, Alex, is a truly terrible person. He’s a murderer, a rapist, and a sociopath. He’s also the son of a wealthy family and he’s used his privilege to get away with his crimes. In the end, however, Alex gets his comeuppance. He’s arrested and convicted of his crimes, and he’s sent to prison for the rest of his life.
I have to say that I was really satisfied with this ending. Alex is a truly evil person and he deserves to be punished for his crimes. I’m glad that the author didn’t shy away from this and that she gave him the ending he deserved.

The Villain’s Redemption
We all love a good villain, someone we can root against and enjoy watching their downfall. But what if those villains got a happy ending? A redemption arc, if you will. Here are three villains who got a happy ending, despite their dastardly ways.
1. The Joker – Batman: The Animated Series
The Joker is one of the most iconic villains of all time, and his redemption arc is one of the most heartwarming. In the episode “Joker’s Favor”, the Joker saves Batman life, and as a result, Batman saves the Joker’s life. This act of kindness starts a chain reaction that leads to the Joker’s eventual redemption. He even helps Batman take down Harley Quinn, his former sidekick.
2. Ursula – The Little Mermaid
Ursula is a classic Disney villain, and her redemption arc is a little more complicated than the Jokers. starts out as a villain, trying to trick Ariel into giving up her voice in exchange for legs. But after Ariel defeats her, Ursula is redeemed and becomes a good person. She even helps Ariel defeat her evil step-sisters.
3. Darth Vader – Star Wars
Darth Vader is one of the most iconic villains of all time, and his redemption arc is one of the most satisfying. Vader starts out as a villain, working for the Empire and trying to crush the Rebel Alliance. But after he learns that his son is alive, he redeems himself and helps Luke defeat the Empire.
The Villain’s downfall
We all love a good villain, someone we can root against and enjoy seeing get their comeuppance. But what about when the villain gets a happy ending? When they get what they want and ride off into the sunset, leaving the heroes in their wake?
It’s a controversial topic, to be sure. Some people feel that a villain’s downfall should always be a tragic one, that they should get their comeuppance and nothing more. Others feel that a happy ending for a villain is perfectly fine, as long as it’s earned.
Personally, I fall into the latter camp. I believe that a villain can absolutely have a happy ending, as long as it’s earned and makes sense for the story. Let’s take a look at some examples of villains who got a happy ending, and see why it worked.
One of the most recent and controversial examples is Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Thanos is the big bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he’s been causing trouble for our heroes since the very first Avengers movie. He’s killed half of all life in the universe, and he’s done it all in the name of “balance.”

At the end of Endgame, Thanos is finally defeated, but rather than being killed or imprisoned, he’s given a peaceful retirement on a beautiful planet. Some people were outraged by this, feeling that Thanos didn’t deserve a happy ending after all the pain and suffering he caused.
But I actually think it was a perfect ending for him. Thanos is a complex villain, and he genuinely believes in his cause. He’s not a mustache-twirling villain who wants to cause chaos for the sake of it; he’s a tragic figure who believes he’s doing the right thing.
And in the end, I think he earned his happy ending.
The Villain’s End a happy ending for villains spoiler
We all love a good villain. They’re the ones who make the story interesting, after all. But what happens when they get their happy ending?
Spoiler alert: this article will be discussing the ending of the film Joker. If you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you stop reading now.
The film Joker is, at its core, a story about a villain. The titular character, played by Joaquin Phoenix, is a man who is driven to madness and violence by a society that doesn’t understand him. He’s a character who is easy to sympathize with, even if his actions are reprehensible.
The ending of the film Joker is a happy one for the character. He finally gets the recognition and validation that he so craves, and he gets to see his plan come to fruition. The film ends with Joker laughing maniacally as he’s carted off to prison, and it’s a truly satisfying ending for the character.
However, there are some who feel that this ending is a cop-out. They argue that Joker doesn’t deserve a happy ending and that it cheapens the film.
I disagree. I think that the ending of Joker is perfectly in line with the character. He’s a villain, yes, but he’s also a victim of circumstance. He’s a product of a society that doesn’t understand him, and I think it’s only fitting that he gets his moment of triumph in the end.
What do you think? Did Joker deserve a happy ending? Let me know in the comments!
